Whole Person Centered, Rooted In Dignity

Making care decisions for a parent with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia isn’t easy, and for many families, that responsibility is rooted in love rather than obligation. The James is here to walk alongside that commitment, not take it over. We’re here to help you navigate the questions ahead with clarity, compassion and a plan that makes sense for your family.

Families in Irvine and across Orange County have a new option to consider: memory care built around dignity, not just supervision. Our approach blends personalized support, meaningful daily routines and a warm, homelike setting where comfort and connection come first.

We look beyond a diagnosis to see the whole person, mind, body and spirit. Whether your loved one is just beginning to notice changes or needs more advanced support, our team provides the stability that makes each day a little easier for them, and a lot more reassuring for you.

Our primary memory care neighborhood lives exclusively on the seventh floor, thoughtfully designed for comfort, familiarity and ease of movement. Private studios are available, alongside a dedicated dining room, craft room and lounge, each one designed to feel less like a facility and more like home. Let The James be your trusted partner for every step of the journey ahead.

Support for the Space In Between

Early- to mid-stage memory loss rarely fits neatly into one category of care. Your loved one may need more structure and support than they can find at home, without yet requiring the full scope of memory care. Mezzanine was created for that in-between, providing custom support, meaningful engagement and a bridge that meets your family exactly where you are.

Located on the sixth floor, Mezzanine is a dedicated neighborhood of private residences paired with individualized care plans and a program of therapeutic, engaging activities designed specifically for those with early- to mid-stage memory loss. Residents have their own dining and activity spaces, separate from both assisted living and memory care. Each day brings support matched to where they are right now.

Mezzanine is also an ideal fit for couples with different care needs who want to remain close without leaving the community they call home. One partner can settle into Mezzanine’s personalized care while the other continues in independent living or assisted living.
